Submit Your Own Review of an Online Dating Service
I did not have a positive experience with eHarmony. I found that they're so good at keeping possible scammers at bay that it was hard to actually contact anyone I was interested in!
Pros of Using eHarmony
- eHarmony does prevent scammers from contacting you
- They structure the program so that members should be able to progressively get to know one another, beginning with a series of questions sent via E-mail
Cons of Using eHarmony
- I had no direct contact with other singles
- I felt the personality profile was misleading
- Reaching the next level of communication depends on whether individuals respond to the questions sent by eHarmony
- Since the individuals that eHarmony was trying to match me up with never answered the E-mail questions, attempts to communicate were thwarted
eHarmony's Services Include
I paid $24.95 per month for this service. This included a personality profile which was supposed to help match me with other members. However, over the course of six months, I only had contact with one person, who turned out to be a scammer looking for money. The company e-mailed me and told me not to contact him and that he had been removed from the site, which is good. I appreciate that they caught on to him and removed him. However, the other matches that they sent me were either no longer members of eHarmony or just just had no way for me to contact them. I never meet one person through this site, other than that scammer!
This Reviewer's "Bottom Line"
I would not recommend this service. Because the people I was "matched up with" never sent back their answers to eHarmony's questions, there was never any real contact with anyone. It turned out to be a waste of time for me personally. They still send me names of guys who are trying to contact me, but I got tired of sending questions that never got answered, so I have discontinued the service. I do appreciate that they're so strict with potential scammers, but it turned out to be so strict that I had little or no contact with actual members!
