Homemade Ornaments You Can Make With Supplies You Already Have on Hand

Are you looking for a fun way to reconnect with your kids this holiday season, without spending a lot of money? Try making some homemade ornaments together. All of the following crafts were created by our Guide to Family Crafts, Sherri Osborn, and can be made using materials you already have on hand at home.

1. Apple-Cinnamon Dough Ornaments

These ornaments are simple to make: just mix the applesauce, cinnamon, and glue, and you're ready to go. The recipe makes approximately one dozen cookie-cutter ornaments.

Supplies Needed:

  • 1/2 cup of applesauce
  • 1 cup of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of glue
  • A rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters
  • A straw
  • Ribbon

2. Puzzle Piece Ornaments

These adorable ornaments can be made for your own family's Christmas tree or can be given as gifts.

  • Old puzzle pieces
  • Craft paint

3. Clothespin Poinsettia
