Tennessee provides an online child support calculator in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Once you download the calculator, you'll need the following information to complete your calculations:

  • Both parents' monthly gross income (before taxes)
  • The amount of any Federal benefits received
  • The amount of any self-employment taxes paid
  • The number of additional children under each parent's care
  • The amount of child support allotted to the primary parent according to the state's Basic Child Support Obligations (BSCO)
  • Each parents' average parenting time
  • The amount of each child's health insurance premiums
  • Any recurring uninsured medical expenses
  • The cost of work-related child care for each parent

Detailed guidelines can also be found on the Tennessee Department of Human Services website.
