Should Moms Be Able to Keep Dads Out of the Delivery Room?

A New Jersey judge ruled this week that a birthing mother can prohibit her baby's biological father from being present during the birth. Essentially, the judge's decision was based on concerns that the father's presence could potentially increase the mother's stress, and therefore put additional stress on the baby. What do you think? In cases where parents are no longer together -- due to a divorce or breakup -- should the mom be allowed to keep the father from attending the birth? Or should fathers' be allowed to be present regardless of the relationship or the mother's feelings?
