DivorceCare is a 13-week divorce recovery support group aimed at helping individuals find hope and healing during and after a divorce or separation. Groups are typically hosted by churches and many offer free child care or children's support group sessions (called DC4K).
This month, DivorceCare is offering a special 2-hour Survive the Holidays workshop aimed at addressing the flood of emotions that so often accompany the holiday season. It's also a great way to learn more about the organization for anyone who's curious about DivorceCare but isn't quite ready to commit to regular meetings.
Still not sure you're ready to walk into a divorce recovery group? Reach out to the facilitator of your local DivorceCare group for more information about what to expect, or invite a friend to go with you.
It may not feel comfortable at first, especially if you're not used to making your own self-care a priority. But as with anything else, it's that initial step that's the hardest. Once you get there, you'll be glad you did.
