Salvage the Holiday Season

Do you feel like things have gotten so bad this year that you can hardly even salvage the holiday for your kids?

Whether you're discouraged by a lack of funds, or a lack of enthusiasm for all things festive, you can still provide your kids with a great holiday experience. After all, it's not really the "stuff" that they care about - it's you.

So sit down and make a list of the things you want to do this holiday season, as well as the things you don't want to do - like arguing over visitation schedules or compensating for your kids' loss with holiday gifts.

Even if you feel like there is very little in your life that you're in control of right now, know that you do have control over the attitude you bring to raising your kids and participating in holidays that they enjoy. Plus, one of the best things about taking the focus off of your own feelings and disappointments is that you just might catch some of their enthusiasm and hope along the way.
