As a single parent, you may find that summer allows you to spend more frequent and longer chunks of time with your kids. Along with all of the fun activities and outings you have planned, make sure that you take precautions to avoid summertime dangers, such as playing with fireworks.
In fact, if you haven't done so already, this would be a good time to have a conversation with your children about the use of fireworks and role play with them how to walk away from a friend who wants to set off a few "harmless" firecrackers. Even legal fireworks can be hazardous in the hands of kids!
