Angels in Waiting to Provide Care for All 14 of Nadya Suleman's Children

Fairly early in the Nadya Suleman controversy, an organization called "Angels in Waiting" offered to provide free nursing care around the clock for all 14 of the octuplet mom's children, to the tune of an estimated $135,000 per month. From the organization's point of view, the goal was to provide ongoing, professional care and assistance to the family while keeping them together under one roof.

However, according to the Dr. Phil McGraw website, the offer was made through the organization's legal representative, Gloria Allred, who also contacted Child Protective Services with a complaint about Suleman. As a result, Suleman allowed the deadline imposed by Angels in Waiting to pass, and it appeared that she would decline their offer altogether.

At that point, Dr. Phil himself stepped in and negotiated a set of terms between Angels in Waiting and Suleman, to ensure that the deal would indeed go through. Those terms are outlined in a published document titled "Declaration of Principles."

Meanwhile, Angels in Waiting is beginning to prepare for the homecoming of the octuplets by collecting monetary and tangible donations on behalf of the family. As outlined in the Declaration of Principles:

  • Money donated on behalf of the Suleman family will be used exclusively for the care of the children for so long as the organization continues to provide care.

  • In the event that the relationship between Suleman and Angels in Waiting is dissolved at some point, any remaining donated money will go to other high-risk infants under the care of Angels in Waiting.

Finally, if you happen to live in the Los Angeles area, and you would like to donate tangible goods, items can be dropped off at Paramount Studios from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm this Saturday, March 14, 2009.

I feel that this is wrong. We should not be helping her. Those children should not be released into her care until she herself can take care of them. There are other people in this world that need help and did not get themselves in their situation for monetary/attention reasons. I will not donate or associate myself or my family with anyone/organization who chooses to bail her out and I will no longer watch Dr. Phil. I will also inform everyone I can about this situation and see to it that they don’t associate themselves either.

I completely agree with Roban’s comment. I will not support any organization that is supporting Suleman or her children. I would have saluted you if you had turned this over to CPS and have all of her children removed from her and let normal people adopt them. This woman is a disgrace to motherhood. She is an out and out gold digger. Now she has a over 500.000.00 dollar house while other people are losing their homes. She wants fame and fortune and nothing else. If you didn’t know how crazy she was before you should have no doubt after the 911 call. Three out of 6 of her previous children are special needs, how many of this last crop will be special needs. She has learned how to milk the system and even was cunning enough to afford plastic surgery etc.,on government money. Sorry but not another dime of our taxdollar should go to this nut job. There are so many homeless children out there that need help, so don’t ask for any more money for crazy Nadya, but help people that are in difficult situation that did not purposely put themself into this situation. Reality show my foot. Any station that will sponser such a show will not be watched by me or by any other people that I can speak to and convince not to watch. I am so angry about this nut job and her botox face and also about the good doers that are helping her. What about her parents home that is in foreclosure?? She didn’t pay the rent to them, inspite of the monthly checks she is collecting. Feel sorry for her parents they are to be pitied for having a daughter like her. I go along with Roban, I also will never watch Dr, Phil anymore. I wrote to Dr. Phil asking him why he didn’t mention the fact of her 3 special needs children in his report. I never received a reply from him about that. There are many of us who are absoletely livid about this case and do not want any help for her. She should have to work for the rest of her life and pay back all of the money she has milked the government for.

Why is it that if a single father so much as sneezes the wrong way CPS is crawling up his back and the so called “Family Law” courts are re-engineering parental rights, while this crack-pot (whom the American public has asked to have CPS look into) is being coddled by Hollywood media?

Having gone through a divorce and, as a single dad, having had to fight to gain a ballanced custody order for the sake of my daughter, I speak from direct first hand knowledge when I say that this is simply further example of how screwed up our society has become.

The reason that the usual barrage of sponsorships and free giveaways and home makeovers did not pour in when Suleman’s sotry first broke is because American is repulsed by the insanity of this woman’s perverse and twisted sense of appropriate conduct in spawning so many offspring through forced means.

But where the feminist agenda is at hand, Hollywood will force CPS to see it their way and will force these children to stay with the mother (what the hell else is new), regardless of the outcry of the American people.

I think we should relentlessly insist that CPS intervene, take the kids and take them out of harms way (and by harms way I mean away from the culprit and perpetrator of this travesty).

Ordinarily I chime in on the side of a parent’s right to be in their child’s life and the child’s right to have that parent be present.

I just do not know what to call this perversity, but it is clearly sick and requires treatment.

I agree that I will not support one penny. It is not up to Angels in Waiting, by the wya, if you go to their site, it states that they have nothing ot do with Nayda Suleman, so what is it. Is this group a Spam? It is up to Child Welfare to oversee the treament these 14 chidlren will be getting. No one person can properly take care of 14 children, who at least 3 are know special needs chidlren. Ms. Suleman has been capilizing on our Welfare System, any monies donated, should go directly to CA welfare Dept. I belive Suleman should be invetigated to any amounts of moneies she collects at the expense of these children. She went into this infetro pregnacey knowing she had no means of support, no private health care, no home or inciome other than Welfare. So, all monies donated, earned fromphotos, interviews should be directed to paying off her welfare receipts. No one has the right to be this iresponsible using babies as a means of becoming rich, or any organization either such as Angels in Waiting, should try to capilize on these babies either. Let the State care for them whether that is determined they be put up for adoption for the best of these 8 babies. While they will know no difference & have a much better chance of a better life. Do nto reward, this woman other greedy people that feel that want to get rich, will be doing the same.

I agree with all the comments, I would not donate one penny to Angles In Waiting until Social Services or Child Welfare take all her babies away from her. It is up to Child Welfare to oversee the treatment these 14 children will be getting. No one person can properly take care of 14 children, in addition to the 3 requiring special needs. Ms. Suleman has been cheating on the Welfare System. Any monies donated, should go directly to CA Welfare Dept. I believe Suleman should be investigated for any monies she collects at the expense of these children. She went into this pregnancy knowing she had no means of support, health care, any home or income other than welfare. All monies donated, earned from photos, interviews should be used to pay off her welfare costs. No one has the right to be this irresponsible. Organizations such as Angels in Waiting provide a great benefit to people in need. However, to spend a $135,000 a month on the Suleman case is ridiculous. There are many more families in need that can use this help. Let the State take them away from her and put them up for adoption. They will know no difference and have a much better chance to a better life. Sooner or later this help will stop and then what happens to the children?

I will donate my $0.02!!! There are plenty of intelligent, hard working, single parents in this world that could use donations but have the pride, respect, and integrity to do it on there own! If Nadya can not make due with what she has then she should lose all rights and the children should go to families that are mentally and finacially stable enough to do so!!!

Completely agree with these comments.
This is just a circus. I think she is big trickster. She lied about plastic surgery, she lied her mother about been pregnant, she lied to public about her food stamps. She make her dad to buy a house on his name, so she can continue to receive foods tams and every think else.
My question is – how someone in foreclosure can buy new house?

why they let her continue to get money and laugh at people’s kindness. This person has no heart. Everything is money and a business to her, including her kids. She paid for sperm and she is on welfare. She got all the free donations and kicked nannies out.

She disgusts me. If she can’t afford them, she shouldn’t have had them. They need to be taken from her and put into homes with the financial means to care for them. And you can’t tell me there is nothing wrong with her. No one normal would go and get in vitro for 14 kids…she’s not a saint. Give me a break.
