Comments shared in response to my previous post about the Nadya Suleman, the single mom who recently gave birth to octuplets, revealed a lot of dissension and speculation about her choice to attempt an additional round of in vitro fertilization after already birthing six children.

Since that post, additional details have been revealed, which are relevant to the situation:

  • In an interview on The Today Show, Suleman revealed that she was implanted with six embryos, two of which split into identical twins.

  • Suleman claims that she has never been on welfare, and according to the interview, anticipates being able to independently provide for all of her children once she finishes graduate school.

  • Suleman also mentioned that the father of all 14 of her children is a "friend," whom she hopes will one day have a role in their lives.

The Today Show plans to air the entire interview on Monday, along with footage of the octuplets.
