Exercise Your Influence Over the National Election: Vote

Monday November 3, 2008

Think your vote doesn't count? Think again.

Unmarried women, in particular, make up one quarter of the pool of eligible voters and could potentially make a big impact in this week's presidential election. According to Timm Herdt, of the Ventura County Star:

"Forget Joe the Plumber. The dominant voter in Tuesday's presidential election will be Sally the Single Mom..."
Herdt is referring to data released by former Clinton pollster, Stan Greenberg, in a report titled "Survey Shows Unmarried Women Driving New American Electorate," which predicts that more unmarried women will participate in this week's presidential election than ever before.

So how about you? Do you have any special plans on Tuesday?

Whether you're voting as a single mom or a single dad, remember that your participation counts. And when you start to feel discouraged about finding the time make it to the polls, or dread keeping your kids entertained while you wait in line, remember this: Your vote isn't just the power of one. It's the power of millions.
