Turn Your Clocks Back Saturday Night
This weekend marks the end of Daylight Saving Time, so remember to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.
Remember to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, too. Doing that at the beginning and end of Daylight Saving Time will ensure that you change the batteries twice a year.
It might seem like just "one more thing" on a long list of things to do, but smoke detectors really do save lives. According to the U.S. Fire Administration, a working smoke detector nearly doubles your chances of escaping a house fire. And that's certainly worth the effort it takes.
In addition, if you're concerned about "wasting" money replacing batteries that might still have some life in them, set those old ones aside and use them again the next time your kids ask for a 9-volt or AA battery to replace their walkie-talkies.
