The August Edition of the "All About Parenting Blog Carnival"

Unfortunately, for many single parents who are barely squeaking by on one income, with or without the addition of consistent child support payments, these issues are really hitting home. That's why I chose money-saving tips as the theme for this month's All About Parenting Blog Carnival.

Here are the tips bloggers from all around the Net submitted to help you cut back on expenses and save money:

• In the post "How I Built My Emergency Fund," Single Ma, of Single Ma's Fabulous Financials, shares the tips and tools that helped her reach her own personal money-saving goals.
• Lois over at Goodies for Mom provides a list of simple and practical suggestions in her post "Money-Saving Tips."

• Ann will help you save money as you gear up for the back-to-school rush with these money-saving tips for accessing free and nearly free learning resources.
• In addition, Terri's post on how to "Help Your Child on the Cheap" is full of creative, inexpensive occupational therapy tools you can make with materials you already have at home.
• I offer some timely suggestions of my own in the post "Save Money on Your Kids' Back-to-School Shopping Needs."

• Robin offers some strategies for "Saving Money in Pregnancy" on her Pregnancy/Birth Blog. While there are lots of pregnancy-related expenses that new moms can't avoid, Robin points out some pretty big corners you can cut.
• Heather reminds new parents not to get carried away with a long list of "must haves" for the new baby in her post "Stretching Your Baby Products Budget."
• In her post, "A Frugal Mom Takes a Whack at Child Care Costs," Katherine writes about the delicate balancing act between what she will compromise on, and what she won't.
• Denise shares some great advice for parents of teens in her post "Parenting Tip #12: Match Your Teen’s Savings."
• Pamela shares "Ten Ways to Save Money on Twin Stuff" on her Twins & Multiples Blog. Even if you're not raising multiples, these tips will prove to be very helpful for parents who don't have the benefit of recycling clothes.

The next All About Parenting Blog Carnival will be hosted by Christy's Family Computing Blog, on the topic "back-to-school." The deadline for submissions is August 25, 2008.
