Today is Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner With Your ChildrenTM

Monday September 24, 2007
The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University has found that the more often children eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are experiment with drugs and alcohol. That's why they've set aside the last Monday in September as Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner With Your ChildrenTM.

According to the researchers at CASA, eating dinner with your children on a regular basis will:
  • Cut your children’s risk of substance abuse in half
  • Lead to better school performance
  • Decrease tension and stress in your home
  • Increase the chances that your children will confide in you
  • Increase your children's capacity for emotionally healthy relationships
Why not begin tonight? If you're looking for delicious dinners, try these Quick and Easy Dinner Recipes from the Guides at About.com's Food & Drink Channel.
