How to Survive Valentine's Day as a Single Parent

As a single parent, you may have mixed emotions about Valentine's Day. On one hand, it's great fun for the kids; but on the other hand, it can be rather depressing when you think about how much emphasis is placed on romance.

One thing you can do is develop your own rituals for making Valentine's Day fun. Some single moms and dads take the opportunity at Valentine's Day to celebrate the deep friendships they've developed. Others focus on having fun with the kids by making homemade valentines and special treats.

I really like your V-Day survival guide. We often make holiday cards and deliver them to our Veteran’s Hospital. It’s an easy way to start introducing younger kids to “doing for others”.
